Cabinet grade is generally sanded on 1 side and plugged on the other. The veneer on the sanded side is solid and made of oak, maple, birch or other solid woods. Also check to see how many plys there are... 5 is standard but the better plywoods will have 7. This makes it more stable to shrinkage and stronger.

Cabinet grade has no piecing with a fully smooth finish.
About $80.00 or more per sheet.
Plywood with piecing is suitable for painting.
