There is a lot of nonsense above me about decency and "hate" radio. The answer is really very simple. It is about money, if people don't listen, advertisers don't put ads on and the station loses money.

Obviously, O'Reilly's program was not drawing the listeners that they feel another program could. More listeners means more money.

I wish I knew. When I heard about this - for which Olbermann gave Billo yet another "Worst Persons" nod - I had to laugh.

What's really funny is that Falafel Boy got replaced by a guy whose claim to fame is getting his *** kicked for calling Jim Everett "Chris."

In regard to the sports radio theme, maybe it's to fill the void created by Tony Kornheiser taking a break from talk radio, which included some sports and talking about the Animal Revolution.

Because of dollars and cents. If it don't pay, it won't play.

That's the whole problem in a nutshell with the fairness doctrine. This is a perfect example of why Am radio is not some conservative conspiracy, but simply program managers airing what people want to listen to. Once you force unpopular programming in the name of "fairness", many of the radio stations will go under.

Republicans were getting dizzy from all of the spinning.

And, considering how far Bush and company have gotten from Traditional Conservative Values, Bush and Fox Network thought it better that Republicans on the Hill didn't know what they were supporting on any given week.

Because Mr.Rome gets better ratings, and the stations that carry him spend less time playing "damage-control" as they have to with the bloviated Mr.Orally, who is not beyond just plain "making stuff up" if it helps make his point. Not that there is anything wrong with making things up as entertainment, but when you try to pass them off as facts and knowledge when they aren't, you tend to attract the attention of lawyers!

Poor ratings. If no one listens, there is no need for the expense.

He is irrelevant anyway. Like Limbaugh and the rest of them, he spouts nonsense.. People get tired of hearing the crapola after a while and quit listening.

Yayz! My vote is New Hampshire, but I don't know, it could be some random state, like when Iowa legalized same sex marriage.

It looks like other than Rush Limbaugh conservative talk-radio doesn't do well in DC.
