Your first step is to forget that the snacks exist, if you believe that this is your problem. When you get home, grab an apple or a banana, and eat it while you're doing your homework. An apple is much more filling than crackers or sugary sweets are. Eating goldfish crackers is fine, just make sure that you don't inadvertently eat half the bag. Drinking ice-cold water fools your stomach into feeling a little more full than it really is, so try that next time you have a hunger pang. Eating the occasional Oreo cookie is fine, just make sure you're not eating too many. Dancing is a good cardiovascualr workout, and will help keep you in shape. When you get home, if you've still got the energy before dinner, run around outside or use the treadmill. Working out right after you eat is not very good for your body. You can also turn watching TV into an exercise. Keep a dumbbell handy so you can watch your show and tone your arms at the same time, and do sit-ups or push-ups during the commercials. Keeping your hands busy and your mind off food will keep you from feeling like you're gaining the weight.
