I really love the early albums. What do you recomend? Which of the later works should I check out if any?
Thanks in advance.

I have to agree - all of them. They were a band who really could do no wrong - something that only The Beatles could also do (although they get a few points deducted for Octopuses Garden).

My personal favourites are I, III and Pysical Grafitti, but maybe that's because I associate those three albums with some very happy times in my life.

I was fortunate enough to see them play live twice - in 1975 at Earl's court when they released Physical Grafitti and in 1979 at Knebworth. I had better seats at Earl's Court, but Knebworth was the better performance.

Like The Beatles, many have tried to emulate Led Zep (Rush and Heart especially) but none have bettered them.

I would suggest Physical Grafitti. That album will just blow your mind.

I Would Definately Recommend "In Through The Out Door". It Only Has Seven Tracks But You Won't Be Disappointed. Best Song Is "All My Love", A Beautiful Tribute To Robert Plant's Son, Closely Followed By "Fool In The Rain" Which Has A Latin Samba Sound To It.

Physical Graffiti Is Excellent Too. It's A Double Album Containing Essential Classics Such As "In My Time Of Dying" "Trampled Under Foot" "Kashmir" And "Ten Years Gone".

I Personally Prefer Led Zep's Earlier Music Too But I Highly Recommend Both Of These Albums. You Definately Won't Be Disappointed! Enjoy =]

I agree with everyone who says get them all.

Here is the order I like them:
1. Led Zeppelin
2. Houses Of The Holy
3. ZOSO (Led Zeppelin IV)
4. Physical Graffiti
5. Led Zeppelin II
6. Led Zeppelin III
7. In Through The Out Door
8. Presence
9. Coda

I also think the live "soundtrack" to the concert film "The Song Remains The Same" should be in your collection as well as the 2CD "BBC Sessions"

Physical graffiti 2 CD set
Presence
In through the Outdoor
I also like No Quarter which is a later live recording by Page and Plant using acoustic sounds with an Egyptian band and African and Asian musicians.
I'm assuming you have the initial 5 albums which you can get quite cheaply these days.
Robert Plants 2005 offering " Mighty Rearranger" is also well worth a listen.
Awesome, Enjoy.

Physical Grafitti's my personal favourite; Led Zeppelin 1 and 4 are the best of the early ones.

You really can't go wrong with any of them. I recommend that you buy the Led Zeppelin Box Set. It's 4 CDs with 54 of their songs. It includes a good mix of early and later Zeppelin. It's what I bought when I first started listening to Zeppelin, and I still listen to it regularly today.

You can get it at amazon.com:

I grew up with them and agree with the answer that you should really own every LZ CD in your collection but if you already have their early stuff and are looking for one CD of their later stuff to get.......my recommendation would be "Physical Graffiti".

"Physical Graffiti" really shows the band at the pinnacle of their prowess and shows the full range of what they could do, from a**kicking heavy metal songs to acoustic numbers, ballads to in-your-face rock. It never comes off my iPod rotation......it is an awesome CD. I saw you will never regret your purchase of this one, dude!!

Of course, as everyone says here you should have them all. But... let's say you can only buy ONE... in my opinion, you must have Led Zeppelin IV ("Zoso")... it's the best one. It includes songs like When The Leeve Breaks, Rock and Roll and Stairway To Heaven.

Agreed. All. They only have 10 studio albums, so they're not tough to get hold of & Zepp is a legendary band. They should be in Every serious rock collection.

All their albums are worth having. They are all great. Even CODA is worth getting. So, I would have to recommend, "The Complete Studio Recordings" 10 CD Set.
