Do you have to make C02 to get people to use less C02? Isn't this whole live earth concert a good demonstration of what it means to be a limousine liberal?

, Sometimes useful, to reach a lot of people ;-)

Elvis made a 1973 a benefit concert for a Cancer foundation......... about 1 1/2 billion people have seen it world wide via satellite ! He could have sung in his bathroom , but nobody would have noticed about that cancer foundation ;- ) So I ask you , do you know anybody who is cured from cancer ? I know some, my mum for example and I had a tumor for myself about 5 years ago ... but I also saw some dying : friends, neighbors and family members !
So I think a concert for a really good thing is a blessing.

Walk for Hunger, Boston, Chicago, LA, NY Marathon, Walk for Cancer, AIDS, Concert for World Hunger, We Are the World?

They all work, to generate millions for organizations which contribute 2% to the cause they have done these charitable work for.

Why not walk and clean your city as you walk 20 miles? Why not pick-up trash and wash the city insead of throwing garbage on to streets?

Why spend millions on dance and music and fly Musicians from all over the world and have a party, why not all Musicians visit with brooms and technolgy to clean-up the cities across the planet?

A concert is not helping any cause, if a concert has done that there should not have been any Hunger in Africa today.

Not at all. There are always those who take a negative view, no matter what of positivity comes of certain endeavors. The object is to bring more people into an awareness of global environmental issues. I believe the concerts do that very well. It obviously worked, here you are talking about it, and you are against it! :-) See, the object is the dialogue, and we do indeed have a dialogue going, don't we?

The amount of energy use for musicians to travel, the fans to come to the events, and all the other preparations is ridiculous but then look at how someone like Gore, Travolta, DiCaprio try to justify why they fly private planes and have limos take them places while they expect you to use your bicycle to get from Philly to NYC.

Nope, makes no sense at all, does it?

And yes, it's a perfect demonstration of their hypocrisy.

I'm a firm believer in taking care of the Earth, but it makes me angry that musicians want to take advantage of people who want to take care of our planet.
