Saqlain's greatest bowling weapon was his doosra ,with which he got lot of wickets initially. But soon batsman started to pick his doosra and he became predictable. He doesn't spin the ball in big way like a Murali or Harbhajan and soon became ineffective in getting wickets.Adding to is concerns was fitness problems and subcontinental cricket politics. He got his chance again against India in 2003 Multan test, but was taken apart by Shewag(312) and Sachin (194),was then never considered again. Also Danish Kaneria has come along a long way and taken is spot.
But he will always be remembered for the Famous Chennai test btw India and Pakistan in 1999, where he picked up 10 wickets and India lost by 17 runs in spite of Sachin's heroics.

it is because of the great flop show of Pakistan in the 2003 world cup. More then half team were sacked including waqur yonis, wasim akram. They were all aged above 28 or 30 so the management did not even thought of bringing them again.

Because he is a nice guy and unless he scores 1000 runs against India he has no chance for playing for Pakistan.

i don't know actually wht is the reason... but the pakistani board (PCB) forgotten him but not the pakistani nation...i think he must be given a chance to prove himself...but it is looking quite difficult after his ankle injury...
Actually the board has now many choices than before...and the bowling attack of pakistan , in my view, is the strongest in south asia now...with the help of fast bolwers like Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Sami and Shoaib Akhtar and the spinner Danish Kaneria,,,they r contributing alot in the success of Pakistani team...
