Ghosts can have the same sounds as any human. They can yell, cry, scream, talk, laugh, walk, run up steps, march, or anything we do that makes sound. However most of them are not cognizant beings, so it's like they are on a loop replaying the same thing over and over again. If the screaming happens again, or had happened before, then you have ghosts. If you can find people that lived in your house before I'd ask them if they ever had anything unusual happen to them in that house. But chances are that it was just a dream.

Ghosts can often make many sounds. Usually it's an unusual moany sound or an eary soft voice. Sometimes they sound like you and me but off to a distance. Their are many places you can look up ghost sounds online for examples. Also you often feel a presence and the air temperature may change. On occasion you may see a shadow form or a partial see through form (apparition) of a ghost. Once in a while you will hear strange noises that aren't normal for where you are. An example is rocks being kicked when there are no rocks nearby or even an unexplained knock on a wall. On occasion a ghost sounds like a normal person whispering. As you can see they can make many noises and sounds. A good way to deal with things if you think you have a ghost or paranormal activity in your house is to get in touch with a local paranormal investigation group. It is amazing when reveals are done and you hear the ghosts responding (if they do - they don't always). I hope this helps.

I can give you first hand knowledge with your question. I lived in a house with my 19 yr. old son for a little over 2 years and very odd things seemed to always be going on in the kitchen. Now then and only then could you actually "hear" a ghost. And really you're not hearing them, only what there doing. Instead of hearing our ghost (meaning her voice or whatever she was throwing around, etc.) I could totally FEEL her. Regardless of the feeling, it was always a very heavy feeling. Feelings of sadness mostly. Especially when I was moving out, on the very last night when I would close that front door for the last time and "I" would never return. That was the deepest, strongest feelings she ever gave me. I was so truly sad, it made me cry. Just to back up a second, I ALWAYS knew when my ghost (or "The Girl" which is the name she proffered, duno why??) was in the house. I couldn't HEAR her, but I always felt her. So in my opinion you can only hear what a ghost DOES, not anything they say. But I'm most certain anyone in the vicinity of a ghost WILL FEEL THEM!! PS: There is more to this story, is anyone is interested just ask.

Usually, I don't think ghosts would have a sound, usually they make sounds by moving objects or opening doors, now I can't say for sure because I can't be sure ghosts exist, but, thats the best explanation I can give you.

Ha. They sound just like you and me. The only difference is that you have a body and they do not. Chances are you weren't just dreaming. In fact, they were probably yelling trying to get your attention. Most spirits just want someone to hear them or to know they're there. They can't hurt you and most of them don't even want to, but they will take to large measures to get your attention if they know you can hear or feel them. Surround yourself in pure white light (God's light if you believe), that repells the darker side, and ask them what they want. :) Was it by chance your right ear? You my dear are very obviously clairaudient, meaning you have a spirit ear.

BTW--most people can't hear them b/c your ears have to be able to tune in to a specific frequency.

depends on how they were in life. The ghosts I've seen make noises, but they never scream. But it may be different in your case. One spoke to me. The first time she spoke, she asked if I seen her mommy. the next time she spoke, she asked for my help. the others I've seen usually try to get my attention by playing with equipment, toys, or get too close. Now if your talking about demons, here is a story all it's own. they scratch on wall's on windows, there's tapping, and growling. At one point I was being pushed and shoved at work. You name it they can do it.

Probably a nightmare, unless the ghosts were saying "Boooooo!"

if ghost ghost do exist (im not saying they don't but if they do) they would probably sound like regular humans with fainter voices, and would probably only talk to you when your asleep.
