My doctor told me that the exercises do not help. In fact, a lot of babies turn on their own after 35 weeks. People who do the exercises think they help because the baby turns, although he/she would have turned anyway. I don't know if this is true, but it is what my doc told me.

I had a breech baby, and he would not turn, so I ended up having a C-section. It really wasn't that awful, and I was happy to do it seeing that it was the safest way for him to come out.

Don't listen to the naysayers.

My baby was breech right up until almost 38 weeks.

There is still time left.

And if baby doesn't turn, c-sections aren't the worst thing in the world. The end result - a healthy baby and safe delivery - is all that matters.

Good luck! Have faith!

External versions are NOT supposed to hurt. Unfortunately, under the rough hands of OBs, they often do. I would recommend looking into http://spinningbabies.com/ for more information on turning babies into optimal fetal positioning.

There are other options:
~ have your baby vaginally and breech - many babies turn while IN LABOR and the ACOG has recently put a statement out that it is just as safe to have a breech vaginal birth as a breech cesarean birth in most situations. http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic3272.htm (take a look at the part right before 'types of breech')
~ Wait - many MANY babies will still turn this late in the game - I have no idea where he got HIS information from. http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic3272.htm (take a look at the first part after the heading 'introduction')
~try to turn him yourself via the positions listed on spinningbabies
~Try going to a chiropractor and attempting the Webster Technique - it has great success
~ Try going to an acupuncturist and attempting moxibustion - it has an even better success rate

Or, let nature take its course, educate yourself on breech birth, and have him vaginally however he decides to be born. There are so many options and most interventions carry some type of risk. Good luck!

Guess what my doctor said the baby was breach at my 35 week check up too. The baby turned and no c-section. Drink lots of cold water and rub your belly. As you feel cramps and it is hard to walk this is the baby turning. Also you could get some head phones and place them at the bottom of your tummy where the baby's head should be and he might start to turn towards it. All of these have worked for someone and I hope one works for you. Good Luck.

the baby still has time to turn do the exercises also try a heating pad on your upper abdomen while in the knee/chest position babies don't like heat on their heads so will try to turn, at 37 weeks your doctor most likely will rescan you to see if your still breech and offer to externally rotation of your baby can be very successful depending on your pelvis doctors experience etc. if all else fails a c/sec isn't the worse thing to happen to have a healthy baby good luck and enjoy your delivery and new baby

My baby was transverse instead of breech. I did the breech tilt to get her to turn. It worked for me. Actually, it is supposed to work 75% of the time.

my first child was breech, bottom first , Yes, some times they turn , and C- section isn't always the best way to go. I gave birth to her vaginally and she weighted in at 5lbs 1oz and was 17 inches long.

I am almost 35 weeks and my big boy is breach also. My Dr told me if my exercises don't help and turn him by this Thursday then he will turn him for me. I am hoping that he will do it on his own. Best of luck and I know what you are going through!!!!!

It is possible that the baby will turn in time. It doesn't hurt to do the exercise and is sure better than a C-section! good luck!!

Babies can remain breech until labor is already in progress.

My first was not ocmpletely turned even many hours into labor.
