I am 5 months pregnant and don't know what I'm having yet. Do you like the names Avrian or Korbin? Is it for a boy or a girl? How about Avriann for a girl? Do you prefer Corbin as spelled with a "C" or a "K"? I was thinking maybe Corbin Monroe? Do you think that's too masculine for a girl? What about Monroe for a girl-- mabe her middle name. How would you pronounce Avrian? (ahh-vree-un) or (aye-vree-un)? any other unique, not too crazy names for boys or girls? And if you want to tell me to find a traditional name-- I don't want one, so don't even suggest it. My other kids' names are Kylie Nicole (which Kylie was NOT popular at the time) and Daegan (day-gun) Layne.

Monroe was feminine when it was Marilyn Monroe... and Avrian isn't too weird if you think that its like Adriane

I really like the name "Corbin Monroe" for a girl. I'm not feeling the "Avriann" name at all, but if that is the one you choose, I would pronounce it as "A-vree-un" if I were you...(like "Avery" with "Ann" added.) The other pronunciation sounds more like "Ivory-un" (if I am reading it correctly) and I don't think that "Ivory" is what you are going for. Bottom line, whatever you decide will end up being perfect. Each of my grandchildren have "different" names and although I wasn't so sure about them when the parents told me what their planned names were, once they arrived, the names fit them to a "T." I have no doubt that the name you choose for this baby will be the same. Don't let anyone tell you what is "right" or "wrong." Yes, unique names can cause minor difficulties...but only MINOR ones (as in - not being able to buy all those "personalized" items for your child, or having to correct someone else's pronunciation of your child's name) but these things are not where the focus should be when selecting the name of your child. Go where your heart leads you. A friend of mine had a name picked out for her daughter but once the baby arrived, she took one look at her and a totally DIFFERENT name came to mind....and thus, Macy Rose was named!

Follow your heart, and just know that whatever you decide will suit your child perfectly once they arrive!

P.S. Just wanted to add one thing...... when I ran the "spell check" on this reply, it highlighted "Avriann" and suggest "ovarian!" This MAY be another possible "tease" that other children may employ against your child. (Just thought you might want to know!)

im kinda feelin Avrian (aye-vree-un) thats how i would pronounce it. im pretty sure thats how any American would pronounce it. Its a bit weird off the tongue but still nice. I like Korbin but its getting way too popular.

Monroe sucks for a girl or boy.
the whole "last names as a first name" is not applicable for every name. Stick with a Kennedy or McKenzie or Jensen.

Corbin and Monroe are masculine for a girl. I've never heard of Avrian.

Keep in mind as kids grow older, they don't always appreciate unique names the way adults do.
