As the others suggested use a tampon and practice ahead of time. You can try using one even if you are not on your period just to practice. But don't leave it in there, after you get it in properly take it out. Ask your mom about helping you, there is NOTHING to be embarrassed about. She went through the same thing and she will feel really special if you ask her.. Also, the way I personally do it when I am going to water parks, etc. it I will put it in and change it after about 4 hours. After you guys are done, when you go to change your clothes take out the one that was in the water for the swimming and everything. Either put in a clean one or put on a pad. You can also remember that your boyfriends Mom will help you too while you are on vacation. She was also your age and knows just what you are going through. WE all had to learn the "ropes" on how to use a tampon.

Using a tampon should be fine. I worked as a lifeguard for 5 years and never had a problem swimming on my period. If you've never used a tampon before, now would be the time to start practicing with them. They take a little time to get used to, but work great.

Use a TAMPON! Easy. You can practice with one now (I'm assuming you don't use them?) even without your period. Try a junior tampon with some vaseline on it. You'll find it's very easy.
Don't even think of wearing a pad. You can't do this.

Wear a tampon but make sure you use lubrication to put it in if it's your first time. Good Luck.

When submerged in water, the vagina closes and water cant get in and nothing can come out. There are these things called Tampons that allow you not not wear a pad but if you dont want to use one then I would wear a towel wrapped around you until you get into the water and then when getting out, get your towel wrapped back around you
