Receiving a knighthood or a peerage is not the same as becoming a member of the royal family. You would not become royalty.

Royalty -- you have to be born to the right family or marry into it. And further, they don't adopt people like you or me.

No. Knights are just that, knights. The only persons considered royalty are the monarch, her children, and her sons' children. Children and paternal grandchildren of previous monarchs are also considered royalty.

No,you are simply knighted.Royalty and the titles aristocracy are two separate entities.
Royalty
King/Queen
Prince/Princess
Royal Duke/Duchess,Royal Marquess/Marchioness
Royal Earl/Countess,Royal Viscout/Viscountess'and Royal Baron/Baroness are other titles a monarch, prince or princess can bear and royal titles outrank the regular nobiliate
Aristocracy
Duke/Duchess
Marquess/Marchioness
Ear/Countess
Viscount/Viscountess
Baron/Baroness
Then the other orders of knighthood come into play. Some of these honors are hereditary, while some are not.
