Alright well,i have a lawnmower and it wont fire. The brand is Hydro 16 Agway. The batterie is old but it still works(it just needs to charge for 10 minutes before you can start the machine). When i turn the key,it starts to turn over, but it won't fire.I REALLY need to get this thing working!I went to 2 mechanics but they don't want to look at it.This must be fixed ASAP because I am forced to cut 10 acres of lawn with a push lawnmower.

You need gas, air or spark to start the engine. Start with fresh gas, squirt some carb cleaner into carb, clean the air filter, check the spark plug to be certain it's not fouled and check to see if the plug is arcing when the motor is turned over. Do these things and if everything is satisfactory squirt some engine starter into the carb it should fire.

Best to pull the spark plug and squirt or pour a teaspoon of gas into the plug hole, replace the plug and try starting again---may have old gas with varnish that doesn't fire well, dirt in the fuel inlet port on the carb, dirty bowl, fuel line shut-off? May have to repeat the procedure a few times to get it to stay running---make sure choke is on at startup. Always use fresh gas and add fuel stabilizer like Stabil when not using the mower for a month or more. Is there maybe an engine kill switch under the seat that keeps it from starting or running if you get off the mower? Oil level correct---some engines have a low oil cutoff switch to prevent burning up the engine.

most lawn mowers get throwed out when its something really simple weather isthe main culprit the fly wheel gets rusty and stops the firing try pulling the top off sand the fly wheel and magneto you may have to remove this to sand when replacing put a matchbook cover between mag and flywheel on side of wheel you will see a place that is metal that is what you sand
