Need to get a turntable but i like good sound. Fortunatly my grandfather gave me a garrard hi-fi many years ago so i grew up listening to good sound. It has now passed away after some 20 years, the record deck that is so i am looking for a replacement. On E-bay i found the rega planar 3 turntable combined with the above tone arms but i do not know which would be the better to go for. Any other reasonably priced turntable options would be considered if you can advise? My budget is around the £200 mark hence reason i was looking at the second hand market. Thanks for your help in advance.

They are both excellent, but the RB-300 is the superior version of the two (I own a Planar 9).

Good alternatives would be from the Pro-Ject range, which start at around £180 brand new. Their turntables have picked up some very favourable reviews in the last few years.
