I have this beta fish for like one year or so, it was quite healthy at first, but then a few days ago, my sister put a mirror in its tank for like 20 minutes or so. From that day on, the beta fish turned from its original color (dark red) to yellowish. I'm worried 'cause I think it's sick...is there anyway to heal it?

The mirror was clean and we always keep the water clean, but the beta fish stays yellowish.

It's just emotionally scarred...it'll soon get over it.

The BETTA is of course also known as the Siamese Fighting Fish and two males should never be kept in a tank together.

So, is yours a male?
The color change is probably due to it's aggressive nature and the fact it thinks (because of seeing it's own image in the mirror) there is another male in the same tank.

This may be irrelevant but, have you ever heard the expression that humans sometimes say to another (esp. male to male) who has shown cowardly behavior? "Are you yellow?" or "You must be a yellow coward!".

FYI:
Spelling
The names Beta Fish, Fighting Beta Fish, and Siamese Beta Fish are often seen. But Beta is a MISSPELLING of Betta, which is a word that comes from the scientific name Betta splendens.
The scientific name of the genus Betta was taken from a word in the local language with the phonetic spelling bettah.

the mirror might have had chemicals on it -- have you changed the water? i find water changes help with all sorts of betta problems.
