Running all those amps, lights, etc. uses a ton of electricity. Lots of people showing up will be drving environmentally unfriendly gas combustion engines. The people will be drinking out of environmentally unfriendly cups. On and on it goes.

Raising awareness - BULLSHISM. Yes, they are sucking up loads of power produced by power plants, trampling the environment and taxing the natural resources of every location. I think it's ammusing. Maybe Bon Jovi will plug into a solar powered amplifier.

I think they are just repeating history. Towards the end of the 80s it was the same, and then the economy crashed and everyone forgot about it. The same will happen again now. Think about it: do you want a job, or be unemployed and know that some CO2 is not emitted?

It's about getting the message out

What you are doing is trying to compare apples and oranges.

Maybe you should complain about all the hot air that comes from talking heads that fill up your mind with garbage -- then factor in all the radio's, televisions, and transmitting equipment to get out their form of propaganda. Its got to be a billion times more.

Yes, but they are raising awareness of the issue - it depends whether the benefits gained AFTER the concert from increased awareness of the situation offsets the pollution that is caused by the concert.
