Please help me by selecting a combination of the following:
White Shirt, light Purple Shirt, light blue shirt, purple tie, green tie, blue tie.
personally I don't like the blue- all blue is too dull, I also think White is safest? What do you think?

White shirt with a gold coloured tie would be very smart.
This combination, together with the navy blue robe is quite a powerful combination, and is a good combination to wear whenever trying to impress business people, or when going for an interview. A very professional look, and I have been told, reflects confidence.
I wear a dark blue suit to work, and recently wore a new crisp white shirt with a gold tie. My boss was suspicious of me all day, and got to the point that she couldn't help herself .. she asked if I had a job interview somewhere.
I just laughed, and then reassured her that I didn't.
BTW, the gold tie was mostly gold with a classic pattern including some maroon, and some dark blue.

Because the day will be captured for posterity, what will hold the test of time and look the least garish, whilst providing some contrast in the picture, is a white shirt and blue tie.
Congratulations and have a great day.

Wear the white shirt with the purple tie. It doesn't have to match!

Wear the white shirt and blue tie.
Also wear a white undershirt to absorb the sweat because wearing all of those clothes in the summer is very hot.

I think the best and smartest would be the white shirt - it seems to be the most common attire to be worn under the robe.
Congratulations on getting your degree. :-)
*Edit* It is up to you if you want to wear cufflinks - if you wear them quite a lot to formal functions, then by all means wear them with your robes. Make sure that they match though.

I'm surprised your university hasn't stipulated what you must wear. Most of them insist on black trousers (or skirt for women) and white shirt (or blouse) which must have buttons so that the hood has something to attach to, and a dark, plain tie for men.

For commencement, in case you're wearing a white gown, placed on a white shirt and pants below, or a white dress in case you choose. If this is black or army blue or the different colour, a black dress such as you mentioned could be severe-high quality. remember, it somewhat is an particularly formal celebration, so do no longer placed on a dress that has a low-back or spaghetti straps or exhibits cleavage. in case you wanna placed on a dress below, placed on some thing severe-high quality with short sleeves on the grounds it somewhat is a spring commencement. good success at your commencement! :)

Go with the white shirt and blue tie (if it doesn't clash).
I would also go with either black or gray pants.
