It depends. If I want some good ol' r&r, I'd prefer the country side. If I wanted to go out and have some fun, I'd prefer the city.

I like big busy cities! I could never see myself living on the country side. I'd probably die! No stores for miles? Nah, that ain't even me!

I lived in NYC for about 3 years and after living there I love the big cities. I want to live in NYC again someday.
