It may happen but for the most part I've been lucky and those who answer my questions are pretty great people. Yahoo has become helpful when this happens and asking them to review violations has been a great help to me at times. They don't always rule in favor of the reporters when reviewing violations, I ask for a second opinion from them and would recommend this if you feel you have received a wrongful violation. I don't want to post any questions and rehash my violation notices so as not to drag on a resolved problem which may result in more problems. I'd prefer the reporter felt I was punished for being reported which I am at times when I've gone too far in a question or answer. Yahoo does now examine the source of the report also I believe and take that into consideration , that is an opinion of mine though and I'm not stating it as fact .

Yes, people really are that petty.
I haven't posted any question that received a violation notice. Are you sure your violation notice was for offensive speech? Did it say that in the notice?? It usually tells you why you got the notice.
It may have just been because "Have you heard Led Zepplin?" is just a bogus question. It only requires a Yes/No answer and is more of a polling question or question for a chat, which is also against rules here (supposedly).
I'm sure you'll give me some negative comment or remark, but that would honestly make you just as petty as the people you are complaining about.

I have never received a violation notice and the only person I ever reported was some weirdo who posted a picture of his dick!
I don't think anyone would retaliate for not being chosen best answer . . . but I suppose there could be some freak who has nothing better to do. :(
But now I'm really curious . . . what was the question? ;)

I think what may have happened is that your question followed another one that seemed very much like spam. It almost looked like a commercial for people interested in earning money on line. I noticed people called the questioner "Spammer".
Although your question wasn't like that, I think it was the request for folks to come down to pay to see you entertain that may have set this person off. People were fairly testy yesterday morning, through no fault of yours. I have a hunch it may have been the twisted questions we were being pummeled with by the pedophile boys.
Not to worry, I'm sure it had nothing to do with who you selected. We all have the right to make that decision! Have a fantastic day! Annie

I asked for help with a Spanish sentence that I did not understand and somebody gave me a violation. I was like what the heck. A lot of people are stupid on this site I say get rid of violations. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

Happened to me yesterday. Question was, pick one of three gaming systems. I got a violation notice for my answer!!!! It was just the system name, no comments or anything! Your e-mail has a link to Customer Care. Click on that and state what you have here. I did and got my points back in 24 hrs.
AND, yes, people are that petty and immature and stupid, double stupid!!

Yes, that's why I almost don't ask questions anymore... I can't remember any specific question that I got deleted but I know that at some point I got a violation notice that made me think "this is stupid!"...

I must say that brings up a very good point. It just started like this when the summer began. Maybe when fall begins and all of the kidies go back to school it will get back to normal around here.

I have yet to receive a violation in this section, but ask very few questions. I think you may be on to something.

I believe it. People mark you or give you a thumbs down if you dont share the same opinion as them. This whole Y/A system is flawed and needs to be fixed.
