I must admit that I am quite ignorant of the various issues related to these subjects, but I can certainly understand the anger, frustration, and mistrust of the "system". "Sistablu" has written a very well organized answer to the question. The next thing to watch for is IF Yahoo Answers! allows for the addition of a Palestinian page.
Truthfully, I am from the Midwest of the USA, and am quite sheltered in what information I receive from the press. I travel and meet as many people as I possibly can, and try to understand and learn from them.
My trip to Egypt was a real eye opening experience, that is how I got to know "Sistablu", she is amazingly bright, and knowlegable about that area, and it's conflicts. I am trying to learn from her input, and appreciate the input from all who respond.
Not all of us have firm opinions, are racist, think we are superior, or fit any "extreme" view. We are trying to read all responses and can actually "feel" the anger and frustration of those who have responded.
Please continue to use this site as an educational tool for the uninformed. You are not just "singing to the Choir", some of us simply do not know enough to form sound conclusions.
Thank you all.

Because Palestine does not exist as a country yet- it is an occupied territory, administered by its internal government (the Palestinian Authority), but it has not become a country yet.
On top of that- people are in hurry to go to Gaza to see the misery inflicted on the Palestinians by Hamas. To take the chance of being kidnapped or killed by radicals in Gaza or the West Bank. When Gaza and the West Bank actually clean themselves up to become viable travel destinations (which they ar enot at the moment), then you can complain that they aren't represented in the travel section- in the meantime, since there is no reason for anyone who is non-suicidal to travel there, there is no need for them to be represented here

It is a very good question and I am so glad that you have taken the initiative to request that Yahoo do make a page especially for questions regarding Palestine.
I would like to think that the only reason is that it has not been requested before.
Besides being an important country culturally and historically,Palestine has great potential as an alternative Middle Eastern travel destination. This is validated by the increasing number of tourists of all age groups who are visiting the country.
I have certainly put my vote in (5th) and hope everyone else does as well.
Good Luck and I hope to be seeing a Palestine page up there on the Travel section A.S.A.P.

it incredibly is because of the fact Palestine isn't called a separate state from Israel by using the final public of countries. If Y/A does open a Palestinian, it could come below hearth for spreading propaganda. professional-Israeli agencies interior the U. S. could be particularly vocal even over the pettiest of issues.

Think about it... the less Palestine is given even a page, the Jews will think Palestine will be lost in the minds of everyone. Which do you think is the truth.... Certain countries talking about destroying Israel and not doing it, or Israel not talking about destroying Palestine and doing it... Personally i think they both are very true and quite obvious that the latter is in play now....

*Sigh* As a Jew, when I read all this garbage, I feel guilty for bringing my son into this world. He is only 11 months, and already he seems to be in everybody's way; and so many people hate him -- for running Yahoo, running the world, breathing MuslimRose's personal oxygen, having the audacity to have been born ... you name it. He hasn't done a thing to anybody, except exist and be born a Jew. Doubtless more than half of the posters here think he is a member of the Conspiracy.

If we just try to be objective... away from the emotional nonsense always being repeated every time the Israel and Palestine is raised... just lets take the following factors in consideration:
1- Not all Middle Eastern or African countries are individually categorized.
2- The category involved is travel... and lets face it... more people do travel to Israel than to occupied Palestine because of the blockade and hardships caused by the Israeli occupiers.
3- This is the American Answers site and we will be mistaken if we expect the administrators (or at least most of them) not to be biased in favour of Israel.
4- But the up point is regardless of what they do... Even the Israel Category is still a minority in the Middle East and Africa section... don't worry brother you are represented by many loving friends.
