When I hit control + alt + delete nothing happens anymore and when I right click on the task bar and select task manager, again, nothing happens. It was working fine last week, what happend and any idea how I can fix it?

I would go for a Windows Repair. Here is information on it:

try the link below for a fix. The usual message when it won't come on is "Task Manager disabled by administrator..." A Virus/Trojan has been known to shut this service down. Again try the link.

Start/Run
type "msconfig"
click OK
Start tab.
make sure the task monitor option is checked then reboot.

You could also try:

"Start" then "Run" and type "sfc /scannow"
