None of what you say is true!

The Mayans have not predicted any tsunami or hurricane. You say they predicted Katrina. Really? Did anybody read some Mayan text BEFORE Katrina hit and announce a warning in advance? No! They looked at some text AFTER Katrina and claimed the text really was referring to Katrina. Did they predict any other hurricanes, like Andrew or the great hurricane in 1900 that killed 6,000 in Galveston? No! Do they predict the NEXT hurricane? When and were do they say it will hit?

And no scientist thinks that the poles will change in 2012. You clearly have not read any of the scientific literature about pole shifts or you would not even attempt to say the shift will happen so suddenly as to start and end in a single year.

hard to say. heres my argument for both sides. For ages, people have been predicting the end of the world, many times, one exmple being 1900, turn of the century, and 2000 with the new millenium. Could apocalypse 2012 just be another prediction? There seems to be enough evidence to consider it a possibility though. Sure there's global warming, but there is a book out there called 'Apocalypse 2012' by Lawrence E. Joseph. It lists several possible ways the world might end in 2012 that are rather depressing, and yes, there is scientific evidence to back it up. Also, the Mayan calendar ends, strangely enough, on December 21 (20th is the last day) 2012. IT is the 'end of time' in a sense for them. At the same time, the exceptionally well known and beloved scientist/philosopher Sir Isaac Newton said that he sees no reason for the world to end before 2060. This was hundreds of years ago though, so it would have been easy what with global warming and other things, for his prediction to be wrong. I hope he was right, but still, apocalypse 2012 is always an outcome.

No.

The world will end when it will end.
By the way, human life will end long before the actual Earth sphere ends, just so you know.

Ends of worlds don't pick nice neat little dates to occur. They just happen.

And besides I don't think the Mayans saw those Europeans coming over the waters to conquer them. If they did you'd think they'd be a little more prepared than they were.

These Armageddon prophecies make for good movie drama but in reality leave that kind of thinking behind. It does you no good.

well no and yes, it will start to end. and even if you don't believe the mayans, countless other people and orcles have predicted it such as Merlin, the Hopi tribe, the web spiders, the lakotas and many more and now it is a scientific phenomena more than anything. here is a website with a set of factual info about the theory, http://viewzone.com/endtime.html

The world will end in over a billion years from now when the sun reaches the end of its life and expand into a red giant and bake the *bleep* out of the planet.

Mayans didn't predict anything--they were violent murderers.
