Obviously your good intentions were there at the time and 9/10 times they must be there afterwards..so why do we regret things?

It depends on the person. I think the older you become the wiser you are and inevitably you learn and take the positive out of an event even if it were a "mistake" and know not to make it next time. If you don't look at life from that perspective, then naturally as humans we would regret things as we are always striving for perfection, but you can make the situation positive and look at other ways to improve the future from what you learned. Life is full of opportunities and it is indeed to short to regret things! Always look at the positive from what may seem like a negative and use it as a stepping stone! :)

Because maybe things didn't work out the way we wanted them to. We have a guilt desires consciences and aspirations. Some people fail to meet their goals and feel regret.

I personally have no regrets I live my life the best I can Do I sometimes feel like I took a wrong road sure but would I turn around and try again NO. Living with regrets is living in the past I worry about this second not the last or the next.

There are many things I've said or done in my life that weren't ALWAYS with the best of intentions and as I've grown spiritually I've regretted some of them. That's my conscience at work! I've made poor decisions, poor choices at times; I've said words in haste or anger that hurt someone; for these actions I feel regret. Feeling regret has given me a chance to make amends and sometimes I couldn't make things right because I'd lost the chance. Then it became a life lesson of how not to make the same choice again.

Because sometimes things seem good in the moment, but you don't think about what kind of consequences your actions will have on you and/or others. It's easy to look back (after facing the consequences) and see what you did wrong and what you should have done. However, I do believe there is a positive side to regrets. Despite how bad they feel, you can learn from them and not make the same mistakes in the future.

because later you may have found a better way of handling that situation, and wished that was the way you did. You have to learn that this is a learning process, dont regret, but learn from it. It is what matures you and makes you wiser, and it also shows that you have empathy towards others. You thought about the situations, instead of flicking it off and not caring. Those are the ones that never learn.

Regretting is the aftermath of all our mistakes done. But why we regret? This is due to the feelings inside our minds saying that what we did previously was wrong. We cannot go to sleep, eat or drink. That is regret. So why not change the things inside our mind to make us non-regretting????

Everyone second-guesses themselves and when people have hard decisions to make they often ask themselves if it was the right choice. A lot of times it seemed like the right thing to do but when times passes and they've thought about it extensively, they can't help but to think they've made the wrong choice.

I think we like everything to go smoothly and everybody remains happy and liking us at all times.
There is a tendency to please and when something goes awry, then we have regrets that maybe we could have prevented it somehow, someway.. we are always challenging ourselves to do better.....

Because we realize things could have been handled in a better way and we are sorry about it.

Because we realize that we could have done better than what we have already done, and most of us like to be perfect with our choices.
