Far less likely than when ovulating but it does happen on the rare occasion.

It is very unlikely that you could become pregnant during your period, some women do ovulate when they are bleeding (which may not actually be a menstrual period), so it is remotely possible.

If you have a consistent menstrual cycle, with several days of bleeding every 27 to 31 days, you probably can't get pregnant during your period. However, if your cycle is irregular, you may mistake some bleeding for a period; if this is the case, you should consider yourself fertile at any time during your cycle. If your period lasts more than a week, you could possibly become pregnant if you engage in sexual intercourse toward the end of your period.

It's very unlikely. She needs to have sex around the time she's ovulating. Now, depending on her cycle... some women have shorter cyles. If you think... she menstruates avery 28 days and ovulates 14 days into the cycle... this is an ESTIMATE. Very few women probably follow this exactly.

Let's say she ovulates a week after her period starts (like me). If you had sex near the end of her period, and sperm live for 4 days or so, it's POSSIBLE. You should find out how well she knows her body and if she knows when she ovulates.

Generally, I think you're safe, if this was a one-time deal. I wouldn't assume that it's foolproof, though; most people-- particularly a younger woman-- aren't that familiar with their bodies and aren't tracking their cycles. And, cycles can be thrown off for a variety of reasons.

Menstrual flow (period) occurs when the egg is not fertilized. Periods usually occur 14 days after ovulation. Therefore, pregnancy can occur as a result of sexual intercourse during a menstrual period..... but is rare.
