i think jim thome last night just changed baseball forever. he showed all pitchers that if they throw at a batter, the batter will now do the same thing back by letting a bat fly out towards the pitcher. its about time hitters react to getting thown at, maybe now we will see less of this nonsense in games.

No! Despite what someone else said in another answer, no Jim Thome did not hit the catcher from the twins. If he got hit by a pitch in the first game, he'd be a little ticked off at the pitcher or even the manager of the twins. If he wanted to get even, there are ways better than hitting the catcher in the head. In his defense, it was hot, humid in Chicago yesterday and made it harder to grab and hold onto the bat even with pine tar and resin.

I see where you are coming from, and it did happen twice. The first time he missed. If he hit the first time and missed the 2nd, then it wouldn't have been intentional.
Never thought about that, but I do know that Jim Thome is voted by many players, one of the best teammates and classy guys in the league. And for that, it wasn't intentional. These guys aren't out there to win and be competitive, remember. They are there for the money. They love each other, just want to make their money.

Conspiracy? Nah. Look, the umpire couln't have been closer. There is the Twins' manager, as well, to register a complaint. All in all, I doubt that there was any intent. After all, the pitcher doesn't bat in the AL, so he could have sent a message without actually braining anyone. This steroids stuff has turned everyone into cynics. C'mon folks. Play ball.

Jim Thome is a class act, always was, is, and will be.
As you calling the Sox cheap and classless, you aren't much better.

It seems out of character for Thome, but I think there should be some repercussions for his actions. I propose he is suspended two games and fine $25,000. More than likely he'll appeal it, so in the end it would probably being like one game and $10,000, which is still fair.

Jim Thome would not intentionally try to hurt someone. He is a classy professional. If the other team thought his actions were directed toward the catcher, they would have reacted.

The incident was a complete accident, and Thome has always been a class player who would not intentionally do such a thing. No action should or will be taken against him.

The Mets would desire to attend until eventually the courtroom case is resolved. that's what occurred whilst Brett Myers beat up his spouse on the line in Boston in front of a dozen witnesses all calling 911 on their cellular telephones and what occurred whilst the american pitcher beat up the bullpen attendant at Fenway for the time of the 0.33 interest of the 2003 ALCS. question: Why beat up your father in regulation? answer: because of the fact considered one of you has been hitting his daughter and the different does no longer like it. until eventually that has been regarded after out, no suspension.
