However, two weeks ago we noticed that one had a white shadow in one eye. It was diagnosed as catarracts, and we got some ointment for it. Now another one has got a catarract. How has this happened as I didn't think they were contagious?

Cataracts are not uncommon in older rabbits.

cataracts can be herreditaryor just like people they happen often in the older age.
