Australia is getting set for an election, and much is being made about the current governments relationship with America. Do you think a special relationship exists between the two countries?

Yeah it is 'special'........'specially' revolting the way our Prime Minister sucks up to George W and does whatever he is told. 'Special' the way most Americans don't even know where Australia is let alone that we have fought in all their wars since the end of WW2 with no questions asked. 'Special' how we allow them to erect military bases in our country but we are not allowed to know (or ask) what goes on in them. 'Special' the way they manipulate our political processes so that their choice of our leaders gets elected. Yes it is really 'special'.

America's relationship with Australia is good and strong. But I wouldn't say it's special. It's not much different than the relationship America has with lots of other counties.

But Australia should probably consider it's relationship with America to be special. Because America is special. It's not like other countries.

Australia and America are among a very few nations who look beyond their own selfish interest and behave responsibly on the world stage.

Yes. The two countries have been allies for years. The citizens of both countries have the same values: freedom and not too much government interference.

How can you go wrong with a country who brought us the Wiggles on Disney...

Seriously, I have more respect for Aussies and Brits than nearly anyone else in the world.
