The answer above is good if you want a day trip with great scenery. It's about 4 or 5 hours from Paris to Lausanne, but at least 7 more hours to Florence or venice. That train combo will cost over $200 one way.

You can also take a night train and save on a hotel.

Paris to Venice is $149 and leaves. P. at 8.38 pm, arrives Venice at 9.39 am next morn.
Paris to Florence is $156, leaves P. at 7.06 pm and arrives next am at 7.16 in Flo.
Double check to see if those prices include a couchette; if not pay extra (about $27) to get a bunk so you can sleep.

If you want to go cheaper,
ryanair.com
flies from Paris Beauvais airport
to Venice (Treviso), Rome, and Milan
for about 35 euros. one way.
There are buses from Paris to Beauvais airport and
trains from those Itlaian cities to florence.
Also check easyjet
They fly from Paris to pisa (one hour from Florence) and to Milan. (2.5 - 3 hrs. from Florence or Venice)
