I'm not sure where people are getting their ideas from up here....... let me answer your is seriously. What you're talking about is the rhythm method.... interesting originally one of the only methods accepted by the Catholic Church..... because most of the time it didn't work when they're really looking for new members.

The rhythm method works by biological timing. Essentially an egg is released 14 days before your next period. If that confused you while I think it's meant to. The problem is what is 14 days before your next period ?? that's the tricky part. If you are extremely regular and have your period every 28 days then seven days right after your period and seven days before your next are you're safe times. Any time between that definitely use a condom.

The rhythm method has horrible statistics because people typically can't remember their car keys let alone the exact day they had their last period. Now to the models of medical science you can buy at the drugstore and ovulation test kit which actually tells you when you're ovulating.... this is designed for women trying to get pregnant but if you think about it you can use it in the reverse.

The other problem is that sperm lives inside the uterus for a couple of days (you didn't think this just happened in seconds did you?) so that ads into your timing.

It would be better to buy a contraceptive sponge during these first and last seven days. This would allow your boyfriend not to wear a condom but would provide a spermicide that protects the uterus opening.

It is a condom 100% safe....? I'm not sure where someone got the one in six condoms fail certainly not from any condom manufacturer site. Condoms actually very rigorously tested if used properly they rarely fail. Failure can happen if a person is having sex for a very long time and the condom is just losing its integrity.... if this were the case just put on a new one. The Durex condom company on their own website say condoms are 95 to 98% effective... of course improper use cuts down on its effectiveness

Nothing is 100% safe. Always use a condom and avoid sex about 14 days after your period.

There is no particular safe time to have sex and not become pregnant. Theres always a chance, if youre worried about it go to your clinic and go on the pill or just talk to them and they will help you. And always use a condom, not just to protect you from becoming pregnant, but to protect you both from infections. Hope this helped :)
