Everytime I install my printer I always prompt to locate the file HPVDJ50.ini, the system says it comes up with my OS cd, but when I insert the cd it still cannot locate the file, the computer wouldn't continue with the installation without it. Please help me out on these...

thank you...

Try getting the driver from the link. Also, you may have a problem with your OS. It's either one of the two. Are you using USB?

If the printer has been previously installed, use Windows file search for it to see if it is available on your PC already, if so point the installer at the folder containing it and it will continue.

I assume you are installing from either a manufacturer supplied CD or a download from HP.COM

If not, try simply getting latest drivers from the HP website, and RUN THEM BEFORE you connect printer,
ONLY connect it when prompted.

Try downloading the drivers direct from HP at the link below. Just select the Operating System and you should be good to go.

ummmm download the driver from here --> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?os=228&softwareitem=dj658en&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=58713&lang=en

See if that works for you.

If not look for .ini file in the driver.cab file located at C:\WINDOWS\DriverCache\i386
