MID EASTERN CHRISTIANS! Mostly non arab ethnically! Offensive??

Question

I ask this, as i had a question removed as "offensive" for stating that as an Assyrian (part of the Chaldo-Assyrian Ethnic group in Iraq) i was tired of my people being labelled Arab by the media. We are not Arabs, we speak Aramaic, use our own script, and predate the arabs by 2000 years in Iraq.

I also pointed out that the Arabs were either immigrant minorities, or non existent in many middle eastern and north africn countries prior to the Arab/Muslim conquest in 7TH Century AD. I also pointed out hat there was little or no conversion to Christianity (or any other religion), after the Muslim conquest, therefore most mid east christians oiginate from BEFORE the arabs. Also many christian peoples still use Syriac, Coptic Egyptian, Western Aramaic etc in religious services, showing that they acknowledge their identity. Many countries regard Maronites, Copts, Syriacs etc as DISTINCT ETHNIC groups. The UN, EU and Iraqi govornment acknowledge Assyrians and Chaldeans are NOT arab

I am not saying that there are no ETHNIC arab christians, just that the vast majority in mid east are NOT, and how can making that statement get my question removed by Yahoo?

Arabs were first mentioned in history by King Senacherib of Asssyria in around 660BC and described by him as a nomadic people living in what is now Saudi Arabia, by this time the great civilisations of Mesopotamia, Assyria, Babylon, Egypt, Phoenicia etc were long established, the arabs did not come to rule the region for another 1300 years.

I always though Aramaic was a dead language not used since the time of Christ, well you learn something new everyday. Getting reported doesn't bother me,because it's a joke what you can get pulled for. I have only done it once, yesterday to a moaning liberal (wake up sheepie) because it is the only language they know (my 5 violation notices point that out). As soon as you disagree with liberals, homo's or the on-line Christian soldiers you are reported. WIil it stop me speaking my mind, will it f*ck. I know a thing or two about history, and I actually agree with what you said, but you can't be honest on here in today's PC world

I read your question last time you posted it and I could see nothing in the least bit offensive. I understand that it is frustrating for you to be mislabeled but at the end of the day you know what you are and other people's ignorance is irrelevant. It seems to me that there are only some minorities who's feelings count! By the way, thannks for the information, I learnt something new.

Thank you for explaining something that I had only slightly heard of before. We are very ignorant in the West about the Middle East and need to have the history explained. Yours is a very clear explanation and is certainly not offensive.

howdy, i comprehend the variety you experience. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that i'm afraid you're lacking between the salient factors that govern the international we live in in recent times. you're no longer allowed below any circumstances( via workstation &appeasement) to criticize or perhaps question what the Muslims/Arabs say,do or have self belief. those human beings do no longer even understand what they're examining formerly they hit the abuse button. they're attempting to erase your historic previous as they're reason on making the fashionable international an Islamic Republic, I daresay that me even saying this negative aspects being suggested or perhaps struck off. I had a question struck off via fact I dared to show the actuality that Muslim extremists have been now attacking and conserving hostage Muslim females & infants on the purple Mosque............curiously "genuine" Muslims do no longer do this.

I don't actually understand what your specific question is. Are you upset by having a question removed or are you asking a question about ethnicity?

If you were making an ethnic point, then thats fine, as long as you weren't making a dig at Arabs.

you are right, you need to report this to the appeals board. if they still mess you about, you should contact the media and make your case known

the reporting thing here is a joke. sometimes, ive given a stupid answer and deserved violation (but ive never been offensive, just my humour didnt appeal to someone) but often its about peoples own agendas- and what your facing seems fairly serious
