Earthquakes can happen anywhere, even in the oceans. Most prone would be the countries on/near the ring of fire.

Counties that are near Plate tectonics, when two plate tectonic moves together it collides and starts a earthquake in the epiccenter. Look on wikipedia or google for a chart of plates and the countries near the plates are the most likely to get an earthquake. Like japan is under a plate.

Countries which are along the pacific ring of fire... It means that there are volcanoes... so places with a lot of volcanoes are most likely to experience earthquakes...

Japan has one of the strongest earthquakes yet...
