That's true...but sadly some people don't value knowledge which is the key to wisdom! Well tough, those people will just have to live with a wasted life as they wouldn't get to know what they really had to seek in life! They wouldn't live a live with opened curtains and a clear panorama of this world!
Thank you! Nice question again! :-)

I Have Friends Who Would Dissagre, On The Basis The Growing Older Just Lets You Have Proof The You Can Legaly Buy Booze, Have Sex And Move Out. We Are All Technicaly Minors For Another 2 Years.
I Think That You Shoud Try To Become Wize After, Say 25. Before That You Are Likely To Be Drunk, Stoned Or Hungover, And That Would Be A Waist Of Wisdom.

Well, there may not be point getting older, but you get older whether there's a point or not. Getting wiser just makes your existence more profitable from an intellectual point of view. But many people don't wanna be intellectual and they live their lives happily. If you think knowledge is power, then you have to agree with this sentence. But if you don't, you're not forced to get wiser.
The tricky part is,most people get wiser even when they don't want to. Because when you live life,it leaves marks on you,and sometimes it's not an option. When you get burnt, getting a scar is not an option. It's a consequence.

Your right.
I see most people living every day in the exact same way. Waking up, having breakfast, working, eating, sleeping..A lot of people seem to have adapted to that, and although its not bad, its just "okay". Its like pressing the "continuation" button on your stereo..and listening to the same song 10 times over...
I think we should all be putting ourselves out there, trying new things and meeting new people. Its through knowledge and experience that we gain wisdom. However, if we are not experiencing or gaining knowledge, where will the wisdom come from? It won't!
Oh by the way..I had the same problem as you the other day..but yesterday I realised if you ask the question from the section of 'Philosophy' you'll always have that as your last option when choosing the category! Try it!
Take Care!

If one thinks and does today as he/she did 5 years ( or 50 years, fo that matter) ago, it means those many years have been wasted. So there is no point in getting older without getting any wiser.

Or - "There is no fool quite like an old fool"! How old is Mr. Yahoo?
I like to think that I've grown in wisdom in 7 decades - generally I have learned to put my brain into gear before I open my mouth.
I have grown in knowledge and understanding. I am patient with clowns .
I would like to think that I am gradually working my way through Rudyard Kipling's "If" and ticking off the salient points along the way.

Truth is said to consist in the agreement of knowledge with the object. According to this mere verbal definition, then, my knowledge, in order to be true, must agree with the object. Now, I can only compare the object with my knowledge by this means, namely, by taking knowledge of it. My knowledge, then, is to be verified by itself, which is far from being sufficient for truth. For as the object is external to me, and the knowledge is in me, I can only judge whether my knowledge of the object agrees with my knowledge of the object.
