It's the bloody song, man. The lyrics would be a wreck if it had to say the United States.

Frankly, I don't think God (assuming its existence) "blesses" nations. Or sports teams, for that matter.

It is not a statement of fact, it is a request. I don't mind asking God to bless our neighbors as well. It would be kinda neat if we could come out with a song or poem asking God to bless us and all of our allies.

Y'all realize until this p.Resident and his 'cronies' we never questioned such a thing.
The United States of America, became a Republic separate and apart from all other countries, why must we be concerned about being so inclusive, now?
Do you believe for one moment that the writers of such songs, anthems, prayers and such, thought for a moment which country they were writing about? Whether there were other countries which actually 'touched borders?' Give me a break!
