yes the first series was better than the second. but i've stopped watching it now.
<3 Sam and Dean. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki work really well together my only problem is with the storyline - it just keeps going on as though they are never going to find the demon !! i just lost my patience like i did with Smallville as well.

yep I love it. It's very unique, a whole lot better than some other shows that are out now about the supernatural in general.
It's kind of hard to say which season was better, season 1 or season 2 b/c both of them had great episodes in them. In season 1 they had the Pilot, Bloody Mary, Hell House, Home, Dead Man's Blood where they're dad came back, and Devil's Trap. In season 2 you gotta give them credit for In my Time of Dying, The Usual Suspects, Tall Tales, What is and What Should Never Be and definitely the season finale 2 parter (All Hell Breaks Loose part 1 and 2).
I'm really looking forward to what season 3 has in store for the Winchester boys since we know that Dean only has a year to live and Sam has to figure out a way to get him out of that deal or he ends up back dead as well. I don't like the idea of two new season regulars but we'll just have to see how that turns out.

I actually preferred the second season. The first season was more demon-of-the-week, while the second was more into the characters and their relationship and angst. I like the psychological stuff better than the horror elements, and I think the show definitely got deeper in the second season.
The early part of the first season wasn't that great, culminating in the dreadful episode, 'Bugs', so if you watch the DVDs, persevere through that to get to the good stuff. 'Home', 'Asylum' (I still have nightmares about that bad guy!), 'Scarecrow' and 'Faith' are all really good. (They are the episodes that follow 'Bugs'.) I also really liked the set of episodes starting with 'Salvation' and 'Devil's Trap' from the end of the first season and extending into 'In My Time of Dying' from the second season.
If you want great stand alone episodes, I'd go with 'Skin', 'Scarecrow' and 'Faith' from the first season and with 'Crossroad Blues', 'Roadkill', 'Heart', and 'What Is and What Should Never Be' from the second season. (Of course, I would definitely recommend watching them all in order, as even the stand alones have references to continuing storylines.)

I've only just started watching supernatural recently. I'm renting the first season and have so far only seen the first four episodes, but I like it a lot!

I watch it once in a while mostly because the lead characters Sam and Dean are soo good looking :) lol. I would be watching every episode if I had seen it from the beginning I'm sure, its pretty interesting besides the actors :)
