he doesn't really need to get any laws passed to do this...it's already in place in the event of a national emergency...he just needs to invoke it...and then it's a simple matter of which general gets to sieze the white house, lock his goofy @$$ up along with cheney, and give the country back to the people...

Who is going to vote yes for that? Stop freakin out. This isn't Venezuela.
EDIT: In regards to your additional remarks.
A veto would not give him power to pass his own laws. A veto prevents new laws from being passed. The office of President is a leadership position, and Commander In Chief of the military. The President can't make his own laws. That is for Congress to do. All the President can do is offer leadership and political influence.
EDIT #2:
In regards to "emergency" situations. Don't take the will of the people as too stupid to know when there needs to be emergency power and when there doesn't. American's won't stand for a Dictator. The military won't either. Those executive orders are there in case a major catastrophe comes into play and the infrastructure of this country becomes limited.
If the people of New York City wouldn't stand for a very popular Rudy Giuliani trying to extend his term as Mayor after the tragedy of 9/11, why do you think the people of America would stand for a President trying to extend his term?

He just did. About a month ago there was a power grab by president bush and it flew right through right under our noses. He proclaimed that in an emergency situation, he, or any president from this point forth could take complete control of any and all institutions, including native american reservation government. In this same power grab, he gave haliburton the contract to build "emergency encampments" throughout remote areas of the country. In case you don't recognize this term, it means concentration camp. Let's just hope these camps are meant for La Raza and the re conquistas when they get too aggressive against our people, or radical islamists.... and not us that would stand up against them.

Nope. The president cannot pass laws, only Congress can. What he *could* do, however, is manipulate Congress (by manipulating the term "patriotism") into giving him the right to do whatever he darned well pleases. Hopefully Congress has gotten too smart for that by now, however.
I know. Congress. Smart. It's a long shot, but I can be hopeful.

The military oath : "I .... do solemnly swear to support and defend the constitution of the United States of America......" The constitution... not the guy in charge. The guy in charge tries to become a dictator... that *definitely* falls under "...domestic enemies..."
A dictator wouldn't stand a chance. If the military didn't get him, a member of the NRA would.

No, only Congress can pass laws (and the president has to sign them to make them laws).
But Bush can pass an 'executive order'. Actually he -has- passed an executive order allowing him to take over the entire government in an 'emergency'--and the definition of 'emergency' is left to him. Whether he can actually do that or not remains to be seen.
The motto of the GOP and the Bush Administration is: "Oh yeah? So who's gonna stop us?"

To late he is already working on it. He has taken away most of the laws controlling abuse by government officials. He has set his self up to control everything if he feels it necessary. We need to impeach and soon. I wish only the ones that voted for him were effected by the evil he has brought to this country. It will soon be to late.

The president doesn't pass laws in the US, he executes them (i.e. he carries them out). He is commander in chief of the military, so he could stage a coup d'etat. If the military would follow him and accept illegal orders. Which I very seriously doube would happen.
