If not, what determines virginity? Also, are tampons more sanitary than pads? I want to switch because they seem more convenient and cleaner. Also, what about TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome)? I heard that tampons may lead to it. Should I switch? By the way, I'm eighteen, if that makes a difference.

Virginity is only lost when a penis enters your vagina. Plain and simple. Many women break their hymes while horseback riding, doing gymnatstics, riding a bike, falling down in general...that doesn't make them impoure or non-virgins!

I prefer tampons to pads. I don't know about more sanitary, but I feel cleaner because the blood isn't getting on the outer labia...it's being caught while still inside, so the blood doesn't get on your outer parts, and I always find I get less blood on my panties using tampons...with pads I always have to sit straight up to keep the blood from going either in front, back, or side of the pad. It's too much hassle.

Yes, tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome, but it's really rare and only happens if the tampon is left in too long and the blood sits around longer than the recommended time. I think most tampons should only be left in for 4-6 hours...read the instructions and you'll be fine.

hmens are useless, all they do is hurt and get in the way, and they don't have anything to do with virginity other than if you still have yours when you lose your virginity it will probably break then, but not always. There have been plenty of cases of women going to the hospital to give birth and the doctor have to surgically remove the hymen, because sex didn't break it.

Tampons on the other hand are one of the best things ever invented. It is so great to be able to go about your day without wearing a huge diaper. You're supposed to change them at least every 8 hours, but I change every 4-6, and I wear pads at night. Also, most hymens will stretch enough to let a tampon by without breaking, but even if it does break, tampons are still totally worth it. If you think you wanna try them, I say go for it.

Being a virgin is not based upon your hymen breaking. It's based upon sexual intercourse. The hymen is simply a membraneous layer in women - although most regularly broken during initial sexual intercourse, it can be broken easily anyway. Mine broke before I even strated my period. But it didn't mean I lost my virginity. You can break your hymen in many ways. My friend's GYN broke her's for her yearly pap. I knew girl that played sports and she didn't even know...she thought she had just strated her period but then she didn't have another for 2 years. Come to find out? It was just her hymen.

There are other facts that they should inform you about if they are trying to discourage you from using tampons. Such as it does have prolonged issues if you are wanting to have babies in your future. Try not to us cheap tampons or the scented kind. They can give you vaginal viruses and/or infections.

Also never doushe. I don't care what they say to you... don't do it. If you are ending your period take a bath... and then a shower. Relax and the water will go inside you. Do NOT take baths with any soap while you are doing this!

18 is a healthy age to tell everyone to go somewhere and allow you to be YOU. I hate pads bc I bleed too heavy. So tampons are my way to go unless I wish to live in the bathroom. Which leads me to my next point. Unless you are bleeding too heavily for a pad to last more than 30 minutes than you do not HAVE to wear a tampon. But if you need to go 2 hours without running to the bathroom to change then use a tampon. Always pee BEFORE taking the tampon out. That way it doesn't feel like ur ripping ur insides out of you. If you DO feel like that? Then wear a pad for the day. You can alternate depending on ur flow and how comfortable you need to feel... like you wouldn't wear a pad while swimming or other sport related programs bc you would have to change your pad every 20 minutes!

Hope this helps. My hymen broke my very first orgasim when I was 12... It hurt and I bled... but it was the pressure from within that broke through wall... I didn't even touch it... but I was still a virgin.

NO. You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse. It is possible to break your hymen through strenuous activity, and some girls are born without them.

I think tampons are more sanitary. TSS is VERY rare, and as long as you don't leave a tampon in longer than 8 hours (MAX) you should be fine. (I have heard of cases where a boy got TSS from a cut so don't blame tampons entirely.

Should you switch? That's up to you. It's your own personal decision.

Using tampons is really a personal choice and if you change them regularly the risk of TSS is dramatically reduced. As for you not being a virgin as you may break your hymen..well girls can break their hymens a number of ways besides sex eg gymnasts, bikers and other athletic sports. So based on these facts, I am of the belief that a virgin is someone who has not had sexual intercourse and I would not consider using a tampon as sex.

did you realize that it truly is attainable to be born without hymen? truly, that's. So, might that make that newborn woman a non-virgin? isn't that a daft thought? you're a virgin until you have vaginal intercourse for the 1st time. confident, you are able to and could get the photos. that's a chain of three of them. They do help to guard you against the cervical cancers that are brought about via some (yet no longer all) of the forms of HPV. additionally, no longer all cervical cancers are brought about via those HPV infections. yet whilst there is something which you would be able to to do stay away from arising any form of maximum cancers you're able to do it. that contains in no way smoking.

Virginity is used to describe if one has had sexual intercourse or not. rupture of hymen because of tampon use does not make one lose virginty. pads are better than tampons health wise. and they do cause TSS just as much as crossing a street will cause a truck to run over you...! (can happen if you dont be careful)

No initial sexual penetration determines virginity not the hymen anymore. You cld lose ur hymen while biking or having a split Tampoons really cause infections, sanitary napkins still the best.

you should never leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours, give or take an hour. otherwise this can lead to TSS. in my opinion you are still a virgin until you have performed penetrative sex. good luck i believe tampons are also cheaper

You lose your virginity when you have intercourse for the first time. Tampons wont affect that. You may prefer them to pads, b/c you don't have to wear those bulky things in ur panties.
