Of course yes.Otherwise there would be no explanation for the fears and the phobias we bring with us when we are born.Like i was born in the city of Srinagar,Kashmir where the beautiful river Jehlum was flowing in the centre and there were houses on both sides on the banks. The tradition was to take the morning bath at the river bank itself. So everyone around including all elders of my family were swimmers and good swimmers at that. When i was about three years old it was decided by the elders that i too should start taking my morning bath at the river from now onwards. So one day when they took me to the river to teach me how to swim and when we were about 100 feet from the river i started shivering. The nearer they took me to the river the more i started shivering and crying. When we reached the river bank i shivered so violently and cried so loudly that everybody decided that i be better sent back home. However the matter was not given up and i was taken to the river many times, but each time the result was the same.Looking at this morbid fear of mine the elders gave up their attempts to teach me swimming.I could never learn swimmimg thereafter. Even after i became an adult the moment i put my feet in just about knee deep water my whole body sort of gets twisted and i look for support,to keep my hand on somebody's shoulder. When in moments of introspection i have tried to analyse wherefrom this fear of water could have come to me,i got no answer other than may be from an earlier life. For i can ensure you that till that age of three i had neither seen anyone drowning nor known what was drowning. So where else could i have carried this fear from at my birth except my last incarnation. It is another matter that after i started learning vedic astrology at the age of 40(about 21 years ago)i discovered that according to astrology i had died of drowning in my last birth.I do not know how many of the readers are aware, but certain institutions which have done experiments about past life regression using hypnotism as a tool have come to the same conclusion that fears and phobias carried at birth are generally from past life.In fact a recorded case is that of a person suffering from claustrophobia since early childhood. He revealed under hypnosis that in his past life he had died on account of being buried alive on orders of the king.
