I lived there until mid - November....I loved it.

The prices may make you weep (unless you are coming from any Scandinavian country).... a pint in the pub was ~3.61 pounds.

Very high society, fashionable (in their own way I guess), lots of modified cars, and high tech EVERYTHING.

I loved the heated toilet seats.

Food was TERRIFIC. (Oh, and again, pricey).

Electronics was CHEAPER though, I got a 7200rpm hard disk for my laptop, for 78 pounds, when they were still 135 in the UK. Even considered a bulk purchase + Ebaying.

If you are a geek like me, you will love Akihabara (Electric Town).

I stayed in Shibuya Ku, which some consider to be the most central part - but it is a HUGE city.....very much a sprawling city indeed.

Trains are EVERYWHERE, and delay your trip to work if you are unlucky to be waiting at the crossing(s). But I don't believe I ever waited more than THREE MINUTES for a train in my whole time there.

And attention to detail is one of the most fascinating parts of Japan, like they have thought of everything. And with this mindset, come hygene. Yes, it is the cleanest place I'd ever seen. Even the trucks are polished, whilst we in the UK have ours covered with all manner of road dirt, salt, etc.

So so so clean. Make sure you are too - or they WILL notice.

Any more Q's, mail me.

Peace out.

Don't really think too much about it . Don't know that much about it . Good in a way . That means there's not much in the way of BIG trouble coming from, or happening there.

Glad for all the recent arrivals coming to MLB.

Amused by some of the Japanese fascination/obsession with some retro American stuff . Making some old, lame crap , cool again ( just in Japan , mostly, not here) .

All in all , my overall impression is that ( in relation to US) Japan = an Asian Canada .

I've never been to Japan, if I had a chance to go to Japan I would; the people that I've met from Japan are decent and hardworking.

I don't know about Japan but a few years ago I worked in a Japanese restaurant and the bosses were very good would work for them again if the chance arose. They are better boss's than the Brit bosses are.

I think I can sum up Japan (or my understanding of it) in one word; GREAT!
I am really into technology of which there is no shortage in Japan. the best names in technology are in Japan such as Pioneer, JVC and Sony, to name a few. I also love sushi and my Mitsubishi Lancer, both of which came from Japan!
