I am a teen boy and I went in the ER cause they needed to remove my appendix and when I woke up to go pee I realizied all my pubic hair was gone! I couldn't believe it! I wanted to frickin curse them out! I was saving that hair until I got a girlfriend that wanted me to shave it or trim it. why did they do this!?!? they are such frickers!

I know you liken shaving hair to amputating limbs but believe me when I say they are different. Your life was saved! The hair will grow back and you'll be fine. I would be more upset about the iching and burning that I would have to endure if I were in your position. So sit back and try to relax because it will burn.
Also, you seem really young. I hope that you are planning on providing better gifts to future girlfriends than shaved pubes.

It depends on how the procedure was performed but if it was done laparoscopically it may have been medically necessary. They shave any surrounding areas including your pubic region so that hair won't accidentally be transferred into the wound/incision and cause an infection. I am sure that since you are a teenager, this is not very comforting but suffice it to say that it will grow back much quicker this time than it did for it to grow in the first place.

They shave it for sanitation reasons-it is better than getting an infection in the operation area. They will grow back fast, and you will probably like the way they grow better than the way they were-they will be much courser.

look at the bright side, women prefer shaved private areas. they told me. and my girlfriend was more likely to explore that area when it is shaved. and dude.. it grows back in a day.

Let's see...sanitary purposes, making the surgical procedure easier, knowing full well it'll grow back in no time... Plenty of good reasons. Enjoy it while it lasts, it's gonna itch like hell soon.
