Well i wouldn't know.
I live in a small country town, the only other gay people i know in this town is my two cousins my aunt and her wife/partner.
We don't have any support groups, gay bars, Pride celebrations or any of that here.

Being 58 it is difficult to answer that...other than to say that I wish when I were coming to terms with my sexuality that I had had someone to talk to..I thought I was the only one--That sounds ridiculous until you remember the repression in the ages that we grew up in. If nothing else it would have given me support and a chance to meet people and the realization that I was not alone.

I can imagine the benefits. Having others to talk with that are the same as you. I wish there had been something like that when I was growing up. I thought I was the only gay person in the whole world.

They have the opportunity to speak to and socialize with others who feel as they feel and understand the hard choice of life ahead of them. I can only empathize with a one legged man. If I had one leg, I would understand.
