I smell a new Godzilla movie? -Saw this during the Transformer previews-?

While watching the previews before Transformers came on I noticed a preview that looked a lot like a Godzilla movie.
At first these people are having a good time talking about how they're going to miss their friend who is going to Japan -Ironicly- Then the building starts to shake and you hear a sound that,if you watched the Godzilla movie from where it's in New York, sounds like it's low grumble. Then everyone heads outside. The first thing they see is a HUGE ball of fire. They spot debree falling from the sky and run towards the streets. They then turn a look down the street and say something along the lines of "What is that?" But thats all I can remember. Then it ends aburblty with nothing stating what the movie is called just a Date. Anyone if you know anything about this could you tell me. Or if you have your own opionon of it let it be heard.

It's called "Cloverfield" and it includes Michael Stahl-David, Odet Jasmin, Mike Vogel, and Lizzy Kaplan. (Most of these people have little to their names). The plot line is a surprise going-away party in a New York bar when a loud noise is heard and the party-goers run out to the street to see pandemonium. It revolves around a monster attack told by this group of people. It's rumored that this film is shot from a 1st-person point of view but it is not clear if the entire movie will follow that style. It's tentatively set for a January 18th release but if the buzz builds it might be move to an early summer release for better box office. Paramount is trying to keep everyone in the dark about this film to generate buzz. It was greenlighted in February and they expect it to do big bucks. JJ Abrams is producing it and Matt Reeves is directing it. You can only see at the beginning of Transformers for now. It was on YouTube yesterday but PPC yanked it citing copyright infringement.

Basically, I had to spoil you fun, but the Godjira project has been shut down since the last Godzilla movie has finished. It is to never be filmed as another movie again. That was the final movie to be made. I seen the preview as well on the 2nd, 3rd, and the 4th. It's just another monster movie based off of Godzilla.

I believe you are refering to the preview for is the movie with no name. The husband just showed me a story on it a while ago, but I can't find it anywhere on the internet now. It looked like another Blair Witch Project type of movie with the hand carried video camera effect. I want to say I saw the current working title was Cloverfield.

yeah i saw that too. the fricken statue of libertys head flew in the air and hit the ground . yeah thats what everybody says. i guess its godzilla. or a weird movie, i think it is got godzilla. because there was one last egg left in the other movie and it hatched.
