Because they can't wrap their minds around the concept that gays and lesbians can be monogamous.

It is part of the conservative agenda to blame everything on somebody else. They blame the war on 9/11, but Iraq didn't have anything to do with it. They blame the tobacco companies for lung cancer when over half the cities won't pass a smog test. They blame aids/HIV on homosexuality. If that is true, why are so many babies being born with the HIV virus? Last time I looked there are not too many gay couples actually having babies. That is also false leading in believing that sex clubs for heteros don't exist. Yeah, right. In their opinion, I guess homosexuality caused the bubonic plague in the dark ages. What about the bird flu? Are gays and lesbians responsible for that too? Why do they always spend more money and energy on figuring out who to blame, then they do dealing with the problem. Proof of that is the Hurricane Katrina disaster. They have senate hearings and debates. People are still living in tents and travel trailers. FEMA is rarely seen. Sorry, I'll get off the soap box now.

Because of two factors they would never want the world to educate themselves about: that more and more women are becoming infected with HIV, thanks to their closeted, bisexual or actually gay HUSBANDS, and that men who engage in bisexual activity have a tendency to rationalize to themselves that condom use is NOT necessary, if you are married or dating women, but "only having sex" with guys on the side.

Unfortunately, we are due to see an increase in HIV cases with gay men, but it's more apt to happen with this new younger generation, who have no concept of how devastating the original AIDS crisis actually was, and who think that now it's just a simple case of taking a bunch of pills and "dealing with it" when the time comes.

Fear + Ignorance are a dangerous combination. Early on in the AIDS epidemic it was gay men who were at great risk (at least in North America). Health professionals keep hammering in the fact that straight populations..especially women are now one of the high risk areas..but everyone chooses not to listen. It appears to be just too frightening for them to comprehend their own risk.

yet AIDS isn't God's "Critique" of homosexuality. Lesbians are no longer as probably to have numerous companions at a time, as some gay adult males do. yet AIDS isn't a gay problem. that's a difficulty for each individual, even the innocents who're no longer sexually lively. relax certain God does not deliver us punishment. it truly is all our very own doing.

Ditto what Joey said. Thing is, the LGBT population has educated themselves and the greatest increase is now occurring in the black male population. Wonder how long it will take for it to hit the non gay white male population?

ignorance, hatred and fear = believes all lies and never the truth...
bigots base all their hatred on lies, assumptions and generalizing stereotypes because they don't have the mental capacity to educated themselves with the truth. but then, the truth doesn't support irrational hatred, now does it?
