I sure hope so. I'm about $16,000 in debt right now through Axia College of University of Phoenix. I know that Aixa is accredited, I pray employers will hirer me. I'm busting my hump to get a 3.92 GPA and doing it over the Internet is really hard.

Some employers will hire with no degree. Unless a degree is important for some reason they can hire without one. I didn't get a degree until I was over 40 and had some very good jobs. I have a degree now but I don't need it. My degree is accounting and I was a CPA once but I have had jobs like tech support in software companies and staff accountant in CPA firms without the degree or CPA and almost nobody I have known had degrees in IT until the last 10 years.
Show you can do the job from experience and during the interview and they will hire you. My current boss gave computer test as part of the interview it was simple but separated those that said they knew computers from those that did know. Some don't even know how to change directories from a dos prompt and have only used one operating system but claim to know computers. With the fakers a degree doesn't help.

Absolutely!!!!!!As getting an online degree from a recognized program will show many employers that your are self motivated and persistent.
But other factors can influence an employers decision like participation in school clubs and events, was active in the schools greeks, and personal recommendations from professors! which cannot in most cases be done getting an online degree!
But with that said most who get online degrees already have a good job and are trying to get qualified to move up to better job positions or are involved with internships that make online degrees work around their work schedule!
Overall an online degree will no way hurt a person from getting a job if the person is persistent and aggressive in his/her pursuits.

My "general" answer is YES, but then you also really have to consider the school's accreditation, and what type of degree you are getting on-line. Many people have to get their degrees on-line because it may be the only way they can go to school or further their education. I think in a world where everything seems to be moving faster, it's something that is becoming more and more acceptable.

My last two places of employment we did not recognize online degree's unless they were from recognized and well known universities that offer online degrees. Places such as the University of Phoenix the resumes were put through the shredder. This is not to say all organizations do this. It depends where you want to work and what is your career. This plays a pretty big role.

Sometimes, but online degrees, especially if they're from one of the for-profit online degree schools, aren't usually considered to be anywhere near the equivalent of a degree from a regular university.

I don't see why not if it's accredited. A lot of companies even have partnerships with online degree schools so my answer would be yes!
