Hundreds of animals have been documented to engage in homosexual and heterosexual behavior, and many times, an animal has a strong preference one way or the other.

CheryllDianne:
Anyone who condemns or disapproves of homosexual people individually or as a group without knowing anything more about them is making a prejudicial judgment and qualifies as a homophobe, if only for the contempt they are showing by casting such a judgment.

I think at the heart of any fundamentalist argument against homosexuality lies the insistence that if what they see doesn't agree with what they think the Bible says, then what they see must be wrong. This is why you see such mind-bending mental gymnastics among fundie xtians (or fundie anything, really) to 'prove' things so they fit within their very narrow framework.
I have always found the 'homosexuality is a sin so abhorrent even the animals don't do it' argument to be ludicrous. Not only is it not true (because animals certainly DO do it) but because you can apply that same argument to other things. Such as:
Reading the Bible is an act so perverse that even the animals don't do it.
Contributing money to televangelists is an act so horrific that even the animals don't do it.
or
Having big, purple fluffy hair is a style choice so heinous that even the animals don't do it. (I guess some exceptions can be made for certain tropical birds)

Your right about the animal thing but you can put all the proof in the world in front of a homophobes face and they still wont believe it, you can't even reason with some of them, it's pointless, they are so brainwashed and ignorant, but everyone in a while you can change one person's mind (the sane ones) so that's why I still say it's important to try to educate people.

Why do homosexuals insist that homosexuality is natural? The fact that it occurs in nature, does not mean it is not an abberation. Animals are born with two heads, thats nature. Siamese twins occur quite naturally. How exactly does a person who is not part of the reproductive cycle natural? Some sort of worker drone perhaps?
And how does the attitude that it is not natural, classify one as a homophobe? I dont give a **** who you choose, as long as their of a reasonable age, and consenting, but I can hardly see it as natural.

The thinking that homosexuality is not natural in my opinion stems from either religious beliefs or pure ignorance. I'm all for it, though, even though I'm not a guy.

Why do you automatically think because one does not agree with homosexuality one is a homophobe? I personally do not agree with the concept of two people of the same sex having intimacy regarding sexual contact. However, I do not avoid the gay person because of their sexual desires. I'm not going to argue semantics, but mankind and animals are not at all alike, we were made separate from the animal kingdom. Ergo the sexuality of animals and mankind is not the same.

You're lucky to convince them on evolution, much less homosexuality in nature.

Heterosexuals behave this way because of fear.
They see the stigmas involved with being gay and are afraid as being seen as gay, because of what others may think.
