Commuting a small prison term and now considering a full pardon, Prez Bush has shown his contempt for the law and our justice system. I understand that the president has the power to pardon, but this power was not invented for our "leaders" to help their cronies, but rather was available as a last resort, for righting injustices.
Lie upon lie, this president is reaching Clintonesque levels of both incomptitence and falseness!
Should we:
1. Elect a democrat as a knee-jerk reaction
2. Keep dividing up on party lines hoping agaist hope for something better
3. Vote for Indepentants and Independence in '08 and make a real, worthwhile change and put the government back on the leash, where it belongs, serving US!

I'll take #3 for $500, Alex!

My response would have been the same with or without the Scooter commutation, and would have been the same several years ago before Bush ever went into office.

HE Commutted a sentence on someone accused of a minor crime. You menctioned Clinton, this is the first time Bush has used this completely legal presidential power. He didn't pardon convicted terrorists. Or his Brother or an contributer with terrorist links.

Oh, Bush surpassed Clinton when people started dying over his lies and stubborness.

I'm not sure I love any of your solutions -- I hope we elect a Democrat because s/he's a decent candidate, and not just as the kind of knee-jerk reaction that put Bush in office. But I'm willing to hear other people's suggestions.

For now, I'm just thanking God for term limits.

Gimme a break!

Why don't you research the history of Presidential Pardons.

And he didn't even pardon the guy. Just kept him out of jail.
