Jaxson looks interesting, but when the child is in school students may make fun of him (because children are extremely cruel sometimes) and teachers may have a difficult time pronouncing his name initially. One of the first words a child will learn is his or her name. He might think "Jack" is spelled correctly as "Jax" and that's just an unnecessary confusion he doesn't need to go through. I understand there's a desire to have an originial name, but he could always spell his name how he likes when he's older and has craved out his own personality without being restricted to an unorthodox spelling as a child and the consequences of the spelling.

If you want it to look like "Jackson" then leave the "s".
Jaxon is a GREAT name, but it doesnt really look related to "jackson" but ends up pronounced the same. I'd prefer it this way-without the 's'
Edit: sorry i didnt read the responses and someone else wrote exactly what i had written before me. I guess i am just emphasizing the point!

My friend had a baby about 6 months ago and named him Jaxon, without the "s" (Jackson). I like the different spelling esp. since it's a popular name right now, giving it a different spelling makes it more special.
I have 3 children and they all have unique spellings to their names.
My opinion...Do what you want to do, just be prepared that ppl WILL spell it incorrectly and pronounce it incorrectly, from time to time. If you can accept that and let it roll off your shoulders, then I think unique spellings/names are GREAT!!

My cousin had a baby boy last year, JAXSON is how she spells it as well. JAXON would be more difficult for those challenged people to get. Keep the "S" in it otherwise it'll be mispronounced forever.

Jaxson looks like a type of meat when you spell it that way.

Personally, I think it looks better with the "S" in it. Depening on the native language of the person reading it some people might pronounce it like Jason with just the "X".
Good luck and I think this is a good name choice.

I like it without the S because it looks more simple and when it comes time for the baby to learn how to read and write it will be easier for him to learn to spell his name.
