Let's put aside the allegations of steroids for a minute, because many, many, many players have been suspected of or have been proven to have used 'roids, and get to the heart of the hatred. Give me an example of how he has slighted you personally in a way that other players haven't. (For instance, "he wouldn't sign an autograph" wouldn't be acceptable, because I've seen him sign plenty.) Give me something original, please, that would make me believe what a "jerk" he is.

I have not had any kind of personal experience involving Bonds, but he sure would win the title of "biggest jerk". His teammates reluctantly put up with him, He has told his teammates not to talk to him and he will communicate by email and his web site, only fans in San Francisco have anything good to say about him, the press hates him because he blows them off, But the bottom line is, steroids or not, he is one of the greatest players ever in MLB, and that is his payback to all the fans that don't like him.

Because he only cares about himself. I know, you want specific examples. Okay how about his contract. He wanted, 18 mil. and he settled on 16 mil. He is NOT worth 16 mil. I mean, come on! Have you seen the Giants roster?! It's a who's who of baseball has-beens. Why? Could it be that Barry asked for the ridiculous salary that he, for the most part, got? Yes, that, plus they spent the same amount on Zito. Bonds knows he's not worth that much money. He's worth maybe 8-10 mil. If he really wanted a W.S. championship, you think he'd take a pay cut. Trust me, if Barry could clone himself to make an entire baseball team, he would!

As if the above list isn't enough. Isn't Barry the one that has a room in the locker room for him and no other team mate is allowed in. Didn't the Giants have to get him his own TV in the locker room so he could watch TV all by himself. It sounds like a team mate I would want.

thats a really good question. i don't know why a lot of people hate him. everyone talks about how he is on steroids and he cheats. but tell me one time he has tested positive for one of those tests. ZERO!!! Bonds is just a great player and has one of the best swings in baseball. and yes i agree with you he does sign autographs and people might not think he does because he doesnt get to them and sometimes he isnt allowed to. but bonds is a great player has a great swing, doesnt cheat and is a great person (and i am not a giants fan)

I dont, Barry is the man! Quit hatin on the man and let him be. When you have clear evidence that he did steroids and then clear evidence that steroids helped him hit home runs come and talk to me but until then Barry is the greatest so sit back and watch history in the making. GO BARRY!

Its unfair to "hate" Barry for most of us.We cant get close to him to really know him.
But for me,he is the poster boy for the steroid boys.
I feel cheated by MLB, and want all steroid records taken out of the books.
Give Maris his record back, and Let Hank keep his.
Barry is off the charts for his age, that alone tells me he CHEATED.

It's not fair to "hate" someone just because they were suspected of steroids uses.

And it's not fair to "hate" someone when their about to break the home run record.

I love Bonds, and think he's one of the greatest-not 'THE' greates- baseball players ever lived.

Cheating on his wife.

Leaving life threatening voice mails on his mistress's phone.

Too many instances to count of him speaking to people that aren't on his payroll like they are on his payroll.

Having virtually nothing to do with his teammates when he plays a team sport.

If he wants to be left alone, he should play golf or bowling.

The world would be a better place if he got hit by a bus.
