I absolutely love linguistics and cultures, and so I am either going to major in International Studies or a language...other than teaching and translation, what are some ideas of career paths?

My best friend is getting a double major in International Studies and Modern Languages (French and Chinese). So far, she's looked into working as a foreign correspondent, foreign services officers, working with organizations like Sierra Club, etc. There are a lot of options, especially if you master a language like Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Korean, etc. Talk to your professors, they'll have ideas. Visit your college's career center and see what they recommend. Good luck.

Try the U.S. Foreign Service. The FSO's (foreign service officers) help formulate and implement US foreign policy at home and in over 260 locations overseas. The two highest jobs as an FSO are the Ambassadors (who work at US embassies) and Consuls (who work at our consulates), but there are a lot more jobs available at diplomatic missions as well.
The Foreign Service Specialists provide technical, supportive, or administrative services to the FSO's. There are 7 major categories of jobs for the Specialists, including Administration, Construction, Information Technology, Medical, English language programs, etc.
The homepage for this is at www.careers.state.gov. From there, just click on the pictures for FSO's, Specialists, Civil Service, or Student Programs.

Hon, you ought to stay faraway from any considerable with "analyze" interior the call. they're undesirable information. those are ineffective delicate stages just to get you employed someplace...everywhere. Any "some thing analyze" degree shouldn't prepare you for any specific pastime. It truly does not rely what you get your degree in till you're going into drugs, regulation, engineering, or some thing alongside those lines. purely get a level in something as long as this is not any longer "some thing analyze" degree. human beings not often artwork of their proper degree fields.
