To answer your question....by all means it frightens me...after going without electricity for a few days in the heat of summer..during a hurricane I can tell you it was terrible....the houses now days are not make for air circulation....so you just COOK...until the power is fixed and you can use the air conditioner .....we depend on electricity for so many things....we do not have an alternate power source....unless we buy a generator...where I live the electric company is great at working to get us back on line as fast as they can...I'm grateful for that!
I hope it won't happen but when there is such a demand for the power we can expect it to happen....Good luck to you this summer...stay as cool as you can....I freeze extra water in the freezer so when our power is out...we use it for drinking....it was a real blessing....

You know.... I didn't really think about that until I read this question. I'm in NYC - and there was a small "brown out" a week ago when the temp was in the eighties... I will definitely be getting my behind to Costco in the AM for some candles, batteries and other supplies....

If it gets that bad, come to my house. We have not had a power outage because of the heat since 1994. I have ref. air and keep it COOL.

Dear Shazz a crack...I am very upset by that statement. I am unsure if I should give you a star for giving me such a fear in my heart. I was happily drinking my beer and eating nuts and typing and then POW! Now I have to go change my pants. But since I just love angry little bunnies I will pop another top and sit in my wet pants and give you a star...Smoochies to you, Shaz a crack!

Not out here in Central Iowa. We never have brown or black outs. And the hotter the better out here, makes for better crops. Take care
