Parents blame music? Tonight me and my mom were arguing and she left and I said "I wish I could die" she came back in and said what.. And i was like " I wish I could die" ( of course i didnt mean it, i love life ) But then she is all like. " Its that stupid music you listen to ) (mcr)..
Why must your parents blame music??

Why do they blame music? Who knows. Who cares. I ignore them now.
My big bro listens to music about people doing OTHER stuff with their life, and they don't say anything to him.
Music is my outlet. I feel like I understand MCR and they understand me.
BTW I think fungusbrains1 is either your mom or just another grownup :O xD

They don't know what else to say. Parents are always paranoid that they didn't bring the kid up right. Kids grow up, parents grow older. The parents of 50 years ago said the same stuff! "This music is insane and will make you a delinquent!" But now they listen to the same stuff as "oldies" and it's them trying to make you listen to "This good music". Don't worry about it. Parents always blame something because they never listen to the kids coming up. You don't have to be like your Dad or Mom to be a real person or a successful person. Use what you've learned from life, respect what was taught you, do what you think is right. Life is an evolution of yourself. Take hold and do your best.

Dont do that again to your mother or say that again! Let her hear a few songs that you listen to ... be more open ... the both of you. Or better yet write a couple of verses out for her so she can understand what is it that you are listening to. This will give her a small idea of what type of music you like and you never know this might the beginning of something. If she still does not like it, then Mom has to trust you and what ever you do (and by no means am I saying you are going to go out and do something senseless) she just needs to look at you and not the music that she thinks is causing your behavior and attitude.

Music has a powerful influence on the mind. Stores use music to make you walk slower while shopping. Restaurants use it to make you want to leave faster so more people come in. Teens usually listen to music right before committing suicide. Soft classical music raises test scores. Music has effects we don't know about on the brain. If I wanted to brainwash people, I would use music.
Music and Hollywood shape the way young people talk, act, dress, and think. I think they both should take more responsibility for their content.

Parents annoy me. I don't know if my parents or parents in general, but they always have to blame something. And if music's something you listen to most of your days, then they'll blame that. If it's sports that you revolve around, they'd blame that. They can't blame themselves if you decide to misbehave.

I don't know?! Music, in my opinion, is a great way of expressing yourself and it has done nothing but influence my life positively! And my mom says the same thing. I so agree with you! =)

Parents blame music because it's dark, loud, and different from what they grew up. To them our generation is fxcked up.

I don't think it is the music. I think we are mad and we just come out w/ the first thing we think of. They are another generation and they don't like our music only old timies. They just think that we are getting everything that we say from movies, tv, music, and sometimes that is true. But, what they don't realize, it is mostly them.

my dad thinks everything "wrong" that i do is because of my iPod or because of using the computer so much. He's always like, "If I see you using that iPod one more time, I'm gonna take it!" and he never does! He also says"I'm going to disconnect the internet and computer" and he never does that either! lol. my mom sometimes takes the cable thing out from the monitor, but i know how to fix it so i do! lol
